EVOLVE HBCU Entrepreneurship _ Summit Saturday, October 1, 2016

EVOLVE Mentoring in partnership with Shaw University’s Career Development Center is host a HBCU Entrepreneurship Summit on Saturday, October 1, 2016. The EVOLVE HBCU Entrepreneurship Summit is an informative and engaging event for high school and college students to encourage their entrepreneurial spirit by cultivating skills on the fundamentals of business ownership. With engaging panels, workshop tracks for STEM, nonprofit/social entrepreneurship or for profit industries and a “Shark Tank” style competition; you don’t want to miss this. EVOLVE HBCU Entrepreneurship Summit Shark Tank Pitch Guidelines

 You will have no more than 3 minutes to deliver your pitch.

 Include in your pitch your name, your location, and your background.

Share your business mission and products and services.

Who is your target market or customer?

State your current progress towards your plans.

What do you need to get there?

This is your chance to sell your story and get others to invest in your dream, spread the word or provide support.

This is your chance to practice the ASK!

Tips for your pitch

  • Keep it succinct and simple!
  • Show your passion for your business plans!
  • Be clear about what you will accomplish with your business.
  • Remember that your pitch is meant to inform, engage and market.
  • Demonstrate your belief in your success by using confident language like, “I will” and “We can.”

To APPLY:  You must be a current college student or recent graduate (no earlier than May 2015) and you business has to be in the Start Up phase (1st year, but no older than 3 years in operation). Submit a 3 minute pitch video and 1-page double spaced 12 point font proposal narrative of your idea and why you think we should pick you for the Shark Tank Competition!!

We encourage all people to come whether your proposal is chosen or not.

Submissions are due by Wednesday, September 14, 2016 ­­­­­­to HBCUSummit@evolvementoring.orgParticipants whose proposals are accepted will be notified by Wednesday, September 21, 2016.
